  2. 3/4 cup sour curd
  3. 2 tbsp ghee
  4. 1 pinch asafoetida
  5. 1 tsp grated ginger
  6. 1 tsp chana daal
  7. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  8. 2 tbsp chopped cashew
  9. 1 tsp chopped green chilli

  12. 1 tsp salt
  13. 1/4 tsp baking soda

Instructions to make to make Rava Idli

  1. Heat ghee in a kadai and splutter mustard seeds, chana dal, cashews, asafoetida and curry leaves. Further, add chilli, ginger and saute for a minute. Keep the flame on low.
  2. Now add rava and roast well for 5 minutes. Cool the rava completely and transfer to a bowl. Further, add curd, coriander and salt. Mix well forming a thick batter, add required water and mix well forming a smooth batter. Rest the batter for 45-90 minutes.
  3. Grease the idli plate and set steamer to heat. Just before steaming add a ¼ tsp baking soda, mix well till it turns forthy. Transfer the batter immediately into the idli plate. do not rest the batter.
  4. Steam the rava idli for 13 -15 minutes on medium flame. Serve idli with sambar and coconut chutney. Enjoy
