Ingredients and spices that need to be Prepare to make Palak chicken:

  1. For chicken marination
  2. 1/2 kg curry cut chicken
  3. to taste Salt
  4. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  5. 3/4 tsp red chilli powder
  6. 1/2 tbsp coriander powder
  7. 1 tsp cumin powder
  8. 1 tsp chicken masala
  9. 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
  10. 2 tbsp mustard oil
  11. (Mix and Marinate chicken for 1 hour at least in fridge)
  12. For palak chicken you will need
  13. as required Marinated chicken
  14. 40 ml oil
  15. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  16. 1 onion (chopped)
  17. 1-2 fresh green chillies (slit)
  18. as required Tomato puree (pureed with cardamom, cinnamon stick,
  19. as required Black peppercorns and cloves)
  20. 1/2 tsp Chicken masala
  21. 1/2 tsp garam masala
  22. 1 bundle spinach
  23. Handful mint leaves (torn roughly)
  24. Handful coriander leaves (chopped)
  25. as required Water
  26. For tempering (garnish)
  27. 5-7 garlic cloves (chopped finely)
  28. 1 fresh green chilli
  29. 1 tsp oil

Steps to make to make Palak chicken

  1. In a mixing bowl marinate the chicken as per the above-mentioned ingredients. Next place a kadhai with oil and heat it. Splutter cumin seeds. Add onion and fresh green chillies and saute till onion is brownish.
  2. Now add the marinated chicken. Mix and cook the chicken by continuous flipping at high heat for 3-5 minutes.
  3. As water is almost evaporated, add the prepared tomato puree. Mix and cook till tomato looses it's rawness.
  4. Meanwhile keep your greens ready. Put spinach leaves (palak) and mint leaves (pudina) on the chicken.
  5. Cover and cook for 2 minutes. As they turn soft, mix well.
  6. Next add chopped coriander leaves, chicken masala and garam masala. Add little water. Mix. Cook without covering till your preferred consistency. Switch the flame off. Transfer into a serving dish.
  7. Next heat oil for tempering. Roast garlic cloves till little brown. Put slit fresh green chilli. Add this tadka on the palak chicken.
  8. It's ready to serve!! You can have this chicken delicacy with rice/ roti/ paratha.
  9. Try this variation... it's awesome when you get that palak along with chicken in your every bite...
