  16. 1/2 Tea Spoon Laal Mirch Powder
  17. 3 Tea Spoon Dhaniya Powder
  18. 1/2 Tea Spoon Roasted Jeera Powder
  19. 1 Tea Spoon Kashmiri Laal Mirch Powder

Instructions to make to make Marinated Gheeya Masala

  1. Peel off the skin of gheeya, wash it properly & then chop them in medium-small size pieces.
  2. Now take a small tadka pan, add 2 Table Spoon Desi ghee in it & turn the gas on low flame.
  3. When ghee gets heated up, add 2 Table Spoon Besan & 1 Teaspoon Kashmiri Laal Mirch Powder in it & roast them for 20-30 seconds till Besan starts releasing a fragrance.
  4. After 20-30 seconds, when fragrance starts coming out of Besan, turn off the flame & keep the roasted Besan rooh aside.
  5. Then take a bowl, add chopped gheeya in it with Roasted Besan Rooh, 2 Table Spoon Dahi, 1/2 Teaspoon Salt, 1/2 Teaspoon Laal Mirch Powder, 1/2 Teaspoon Haldi Powder, 1/2 Teaspoon Roasted Jeera Powder & 1 Teaspoon Dhaniya Powder in it & mix them properly.
  6. Now keep the marinated gheeya in refrigerator for 3-4 hours so that marination sticks to it properly.
  7. Meanwhile, chop Onions, Ginger, Green Chillies & Dhaniya Leaves very finely.
  8. Grind Tomatoes finely into purée in a mixer grinder.
  9. After 3-4 hours, take a pressure cooker, add 1 Big Spoon Desi Ghee or Oil in it & turn the gas on medium flame.
  10. When ghee or oil gets heated up, add 1 Teaspoon Jeera & 1 Pinch Hing in it & let them sizzle.
  11. When they start sizzling, add finely chopped onions, Ginger & Green Chillies in it & cook them till they turn into golden brown in colour.
  12. After 5-6 minutes, when they turn into golden brown in colour, add 2 Teaspoon Dhaniya Powder & 1 Teaspoon Kashmiri Laal Mirch Powder in it & mix them properly.
  13. Now cook them for 1-2 minutes.
  14. After 1-2 minutes, add finely grinded tomato purée in it with 1 Teaspoon Salt so that they start releasing oil quickly.
  15. After 6-7 minutes, when oil is completely released, add marinated gheeya pieces in it & mix them properly.
  16. Now cook them for 4-5 minutes on low flame.
  17. After 4-5 minutes, add 1/2-1 Cup Water in it, mix it properly & then close the lid.
  18. Now give 4 whistles on medium-low flame.
  19. After 4 whistles, turn off the flame & let the pressure cooker depressurise naturally.
  20. After some time, open the lid & add 1/2 Teaspoon Roasted Kasuri Methi & finely chopped dhaniya leaves in it & mix them properly.
  21. Your Marinated Gheeya Masala is ready to be served.
