  3. For tempering-
  4. 50 ml oil
  5. 1 tsp mustard seeds
  6. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  7. 1 tsp chana dal
  8. 1 tsp gota urad dal
  9. 1 tbsp grated ginger
  10. few curry leaves
  11. 2-4 fresh green chillies
  12. 1 dry red chili
  13. 1/2 cup vegetables (finely chopped cabbage, carrot, beans)
  14. As per taste Salt
  15. 1/4 th tsp turmeric powder
  16. 1 tsp sambar masala
  17. 1/2 tsp ghee

  1. Place a kadhai, dry roast sooji, till you get a nice aroma. Do not roast till brown. As you get the aroma, transfer it to a plate. Next heat oil. Splutter mustard seeds, cumin seeds. Add chana dal, urad dal, chilies, curry leaves, and ginger.
  2. Add vegetables. Put salt, turmeric, sambar masala. Mix all well. Keep flame slow.
  3. Next cover and cook till vegetables are softened. Next, add water.
  4. Let it boil nicely. Now add the roasted sooji and continuously stir to avoid any lumps. The flame must be medium.
  5. Give a gentle mix. Add ghee. Cover for a minute or two. Switch the flame off. After a while opens and give a gentle mix.
