  1. 1 apple medium size (diced)
  2. 1 potato medium size (diced and boiled)
  3. 140 ml curd (2 pkts)
  4. as per taste Pink Himalayan salt (for adding in curd as well as for boiling potato)
  5. 1/ 2 tsp black salt
  6. 3/4 tsp sugar
  7. 1/2 tsp black pepper powder (optional)
  8. 1/4 part lemon (juice)
  9. as required Coriander leaves (few for adding and also for garnish)
  10. as required For cumin chilli powder (Jeera mirch powder)
  11. 2 tsp cumin
  12. 2 dry red chilies

Instructions to make to make Apple and boiled potato raita

  1. Dry roast cumin seeds and dry red chilies. As it's roasted and warm, grind into a fine powder. Keep aside. Next boil potatoes with salt and water.
  2. Next in a mixing bowl, take curd, add salt, black salt, black pepper, sugar and zeera mirch powder. Whip mix till you get a smooth texture.
  3. Next when potato is boiled, strain and discard it's water. Add the boiled potato into the curd mixture. Next cut apple and put the dices into the curd mixture. Cut apple immediately when you have to add it else it will turn brown.
  4. Put zeera mirch powder. For addition of this, you can adjust, as per the spiciness you need. Next squeeze lemon. Adjust as per your taste. But if your curd is sour, do not add lemon.
  5. Mix all gently. Next add chopped coriander leaves and mix. Sprinkle some more cumin and dry red chilies powder on top for garnish...let the raita settle and cool. Serve with rice/ paratha/ pulao.
