- 4 Tbsps Coriander seeds
- 2 tbsps Cummin seeds
- 1/4 tsp Methi / Fenugreek seeds
- 7-8 Black Peppercorns
- 7-8 Whole Dry Red Chillies
- 2 Green Cardamom
- 1 Small Cinnamon stick
- 1 Tsp Salt or as per taste
- 4 Tbsps Dessicated Coconut
- 1 Tsp White Sesame seeds
- 1 Small Onion sliced
- 6 Garlic cloves
- 1 Tsp Veg oil
- 8-10 Roasted Peanuts
- 1 Tsp Kashmiri LAL Mirch powder
- 1/2 tsp Aamchur powder
- 1/2 Tsp Lime Salt / Nimbu ke Phool
Instructions to make to make Misal Masala Powder
- Dry roast Coriander, Cummin, Methi seeds along with peppercorns, cinnamon stick, cardamom, chillies and salt. Once done put it in a steel plate / tray and let it cool.
- In the same pan, dry roast the dessicated coconut and the sesame seeds. Put it in the same plate to cool.
- At last dry roast the sliced onion for few minutes and then add oil and add the garlic too and fry / roast till both becomes brown but don't burn it. Put it in the same plate and let it cool to room temperature.
- Once cooled, add all in a mixer grinder jar and add the roasted peanuts, Aamchur powder, Lime Salt and Kashmiri LAL Mirch powder and grind it. Check salt and adjust. Your Misal Masala Powder is ready. We sprinkled it on our Misal and it was awesome. It goes well with Vada Pav and Pav Bhaji too. Sprinkle in your regular Dal while having it.
