Ingredients and spices that need to be Prepare to make Cholafali:

  1. 250 gram besan
  2. 200 gram udad flour
  3. 1 tsp papad khar /alkaline salt
  4. 1/2 tsp salt
  5. 1 cup water
  6. Spice mix -
  7. 2 tsp red chilli powder
  8. 2 tsp black salt
  9. Oil to fry

Steps to make to make Cholafali

  1. Roast papad khar and salt in a pan at on medium heat for a minute. Now add water to it and bring it to a boil. Turn off the heat and let it cool down a bit.
  2. Mix besan and udad flour in a bowl and sieve it. Now add papad khar and salt water to it and make a dough. Knead the dough for 2 to 3 minutes.
  3. Now take a clean plastic and apply some oil inside and put the dough in the plastic. Pound the dough with the help of a hammer or iron pastel until it is soft. Now divide the dough into two portions, apply some oil and knead it. Make two logs out of it and with the help of a knife or a thread, cut it into smaller portions.
  4. Grease a plastic and roll one portion of the dough into a thin circle. Keep rolling and arranging cholafali on a big plastic. Make cuts on it. When 12 to 15 cholafali is ready, fry it. Do not let it dry out a lot to get the best results.
  5. Heat oil in a pan and add one cholafali to it and fry it on medium to high heat until light pink on both sides. Mix red chilli powder and black salt in a bowl and sprinkle it on fried cholafali. Fry all the chorafali in the same way and sprinkle with spice mix.
  6. Delicious cholafali is ready to serve.
